Patriots Equal Best Winning Streak Since Tom Brady Era with Triumph Over Jets

Patriots rookie TreVeyon Henderson in action

First-year player Henderson has tallied five touchdowns this season

New England tied their top unbeaten stretch since the Brady era as they defeated AFC East opponents the New York Jets 27-14 in professional football

First-year standout Henderson was the standout with three touchdowns as the Patriots notched an eighth straight win for the first time since star signal-caller Tom Brady's final season with the team in the 2019 season

Quarterback Maye accumulated 281 yards and a score, completing 25 passes from 34 throws

The triumph increases the Patriots lead at the summit of the AFC East as they advanced to nine victories against two losses, with the Jets bottom after dropping to two victories and eight defeats

The Jets had taken the lead at Gillette Stadium with quarterback Fields scoring a short rushing score to conclude the New York's initial series

But the Patriots answered in the second period as the rookie rushed for two seven-yard TDs before the running back grabbed a reception from Drake Maye at the rear of the end zone in the middle of the third quarter to push the score to 21 to 7

"It was a crucial moment for him delivering, and it's been fantastic for him to keep getting these reps," the quarterback commented on Henderson. "He wants to be outstanding."

Justin Fields threw to John Metchie in the latter part of the third quarter to reduce the lead for the Jets but Borregales booted a two kicks in the final period as the Patriots wrapped up the win
